Michael Endres, one of the leading German pianists of our time, has a discography of 25 CD’s produced by Capriccio and Oehms Classics which include complete recordings of all Mozart Sonatas, Schubert and Carl Maria V.Weber Sonatas and the complete piano works of Ravel. Apart from specialising in Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Scumann and Ravel, Endres covers a wide repertoire including seldom played composers like Leopold Godowsky, Gabriel Faure, Arnold Bax, Charles Ives and Eduard Tubin. These recordings are praised by international reviewers and have won awards such as “ Choc de la Musique”, Diapason D’or and Fono Forum “ Star of the Month”.

Endres performs in Europe, America, Japan, Korea, China, South America and New Zealand as soloist. Among his chamber music partners are the Berlin Phiharmonic Soloists, Artemis Quartet and the Fine Arts Quartet.

He plays in festivals in both America and Europe including Newport (USA), Beethovenfest Bonn, Munchener Klaviersommer, Klavierfestival Ruhr, Salzburg Festival and has performed in Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Covent Garden London, Musikverein Vienna, Suntory Hall Tokyo, La Scala Milan and with orchestras such as the Tonhalle Orchester Zurich,the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra,Stutgart Philhrmonic,Bochum Symphony,Cologne Chamber Orchestra.

As pianist of the renowned Baritone Hermann Prey he undertook numerous tours, five through America and Japan which included Television Productions and recordings for CD.

Other singers he has collaborated with are Rene Kollo andWolfgang Holzmair.

He has won prizes including the Concours Geza Anda ( Zurich), Artists International Competition New York ,and First and Special prizes at the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund.

Endres studied with Jacob Lateiner at the Juilliard School of Music in New York where he gained his Masters Degree and with Peter Feuchtwanger in London.

He received his initial training at the Hochschule fuer Musik in Munich, from where he graduated with special distinction in 1985 as a student of Klaus Schilde and Karl Hermann Mrongovius.

He has a long and distinguished career as professor for piano , teaching from 1994-2003 at the Hochschule fuer Musik in Cologne and since 2003 at Germany’s leading college the Hochschule fuer Musik “Hanns Eisler “in the capital Berlin, where he holds a chair for piano.
